Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Integration Partner Program?

It’s a structured support program that gives OEMs and brands access to Open Kitchen’s engineering team, software tools, and technical resources needed to build and maintain custom integrations on our IoT platform.

Is this separate from Open Kitchen Cloud Licenses?

Yes, this program is independent of and in addition to Open Kitchen Cloud Licenses and Managed Services. It specifically covers engineering support and custom development

Which tier is right for me?

Standard: Your integration is live in production and needs minimal ongoing support

Enterprise: You’re actively developing a new integration or adding features

Sustain: You have complex requirements, multiple projects, or need dedicated architect support

Still need help? No worries! contact our sales team to discuss your needs and get matched to the best fit.

What happens to unused hours?

Hours expire at the end of each billing period. Monthly tiers reset each month; Sustain tier hours expire annually. Hours do not roll over.

Can I upgrade or downgrade tiers?

Yes. Standard and Enterprise tiers are month-to-month. To move to Sustain tier, your integration must be production-ready with no active development work.

What if I need more hours than my tier includes?

Additional engineering work beyond your tier’s included hours is available at an additional cost. We’ll provide a quote in advance.

Do I need to commit long-term?

Sustain tier is an annual contract. Standard and Enterprise are month-to-month with 30 days notice to cancel.

Can I use the Sustain Tier for New Development?

No. The Sustain tier is only for maintenance and minor bugs on completed integrations already released to production. New feature development requires at least the Standard tier.

What makes an integration eligible for the Sustain tier?

Your integration must be:
* Released to production in Open Kitchen
* No longer requiring active custom development
* Only needing maintenance and minor bug fixes

Do I need to designate specific contacts?

Yes. You must designate a primary contact for all communications and scheduling, plus a project owner who can approve any work beyond your tier’s included hours

What are the response times?

Standard: 1 business day

Enterprise: Same day for critical questions

Sustain 2 Business Days

What happens if I need to respond to Open Kitchen questions?

To keep your project moving, you’re expected to respond to Open Kitchen (PhD) questions within 3 business days.

What’s Included in Check in Meetings?

Regular technical reviews with assigned experts to discuss progress, troubleshoot issues, plan next steps, and review hours usage. Frequency depends on tier (annually for Sustain, monthly for Standard, custom for Enterprise).

How do I cancel?

Submit written notice 30 days in advance to your account manager or support@openkitchen.com. Access ends at the conclusion of the notice period.

What happens to projects in progress if I cancel?

Ongoing custom development must be completed or transitioned before termination, or additional completion fees will apply.

Can I get a refund if I cancel early?

No refunds for partial periods. Sustain tier has no refunds for early termination within the annual period. Standard/Enterprise cancellations are effective at the end of the current monthly billing period.

What are ConnectWare Library licenses?

Software licenses that allow you to deploy Open Kitchen integrations on your devices. Sustain and Standard include unlimited devices; Enterprise includes up to 10 devices.
